Settings Tab Overview
The Settings tab in CommBilling centralizes all configuration options that help you manage your company details, automate billing actions, and personalize the visual design of your documents.
It serves as the main control panel for setting up how your invoices, credit notes, and emails appear and behave, ensuring your account is fully aligned with your operational and branding needs.
The Settings tab is divided into four sub-tabs, each designed to manage a specific aspect of your billing configuration.
1. General Settings
The General settings tab in CommBilling is divided into four key sections that help manage your company’s details and streamline your billing processes:
- Company VAT Number Validation:
In this section, you can enter and validate your store’s VAT number. CommBilling automatically checks the validity of the VAT number to ensure your business remains compliant with EU VAT regulations.
-
Company Details:
Here, you can input additional details about your company, such as your compnay's name and address and optional fields like IBAN and BIC etc. These fields are useful for payment and financial transactions but are not mandatory.
-
Invoice/Credit Note Automation:
This section lets you activate triggers for automating invoice and credit note generation:- Automatically Generate Invoices: When enabled, CommBilling will automatically create invoices for every order placed in your Shopify store.
- Automatically Generate Credit Notes: Similarly, you can activate the automatic generation of credit notes for refunds or returns, streamlining your billing workflow.

- Sales Document Numbering
This section allows you to configure the numbering system for documents like invoices and credit notes. Having a clear and customizable numbering sequence ensures consistency and helps with document organization and tracking.
This General Settings sub-tab ensures that your business is VAT-compliant and that your sales documents are properly configured and automated for smooth operations.
2. Customization
The Customization sub-tab provides tools to tailor your sales documents to your brand’s style and needs:
-
Sales Document Design: Based on your subscription plan, you can fully or not customize the design of invoices and credit notes, including adding your store’s logo, choosing color schemes, and adding any additional information like terms and conditions, removing CommBilling branding etc.

3. Translation
In the Translation sub-tab, CommBilling detects the language used in your Shopify store and adjusts the interface accordingly. You can manually change the language settings if needed.
If you operate in multiple regions, you can activate the option to send invoices and credit notes in the customer’s preferred language, ensuring smooth and clear communication.

4. Email
The Email sub-tab allows you to configure how CommBilling sends emails related to your sales documents:
-
SMTP Configuration: Depending on your plan, you can either use CommBilling’s SMTP server or configure your own, giving you control over how invoices, credit notes, and other communications are sent.

-
Email Template Customization:You can personalize both the subject and content of the emails sent to your customers. This includes:
- Subject: Enter the desired subject for the email, which your customers will see upon receiving the message.
