The Sales Documents Section in CommBilling is the central place for managing all your orders, invoices, refunds, and credit notes. Depending on your plan, the available sub-tabs will vary:
- C-Business Plan: Full access to all four sub-tabs Orders, Invoices, Refunds, and Credit Notes.
- C-Starter Plan: Access to only the Orders and Invoices sub-tabs.
Here’s a detailed breakdown of each sub-tab and its features.
1. Orders Tab
In the Orders tab, you will find a complete view of all the orders in your Shopify store, as CommBilling synchronizes this data with Shopify. The columns displayed can be:
- Order Number
- Order Date
- Customer Name
- Total Price
- Payment Status
- Invoice Number (clickable to download the invoice)
- Invoice Status
You can also customize the view by displaying more columns such as Invoice Date etc making it easier to track relevant information.
If an order has not had an invoice generated yet, there is a button that allows you to generate the invoice directly from the screen.
Additional features include:
- Bulk Actions: You can print or export the order list to a .CSV file for external use.
- Re-synchronize Orders: A button that re-synchronizes the order list with Shopify, ensuring the most up-to-date information is available.
- Filter & Search: Filter the orders by date range or search , making it easy to locate specific transactions.
You also have a direct option to access the Invoices tab from here for more specific invoice management.
2. Invoices Tab
In the Invoices tab, you can see all the invoices generated for your Shopify orders. The default view displays the following columns:
- Invoice Number
- Customer Name
- Amount (Excluding and Including VAT)
- The Actions section provides the following key functionalities:
Export PDF: Export the invoice in PDF format.
Export XML (C-Business Plan only): This feature is available exclusively for C-Business Plan users, allowing you to export invoices in XML format.
Other features include:
- Bulk Actions: Perform bulk exports or print multiple invoices at once.
- Delete Last Invoice: If needed, you can delete the last generated invoice for a specific order.
Just like in the Orders tab, you can display additional columns like Invoice Date for a more detailed overview.
3. Refunds Tab (C-Business Plan Only)
The Refunds tab is where you manage all refunds processed through your Shopify store. This view includes:
- Order Number
- Customer Name
- Refund Date
- Refund Amount
- Credit Note Number (if a credit note has been generated)
- Credit Note Status
You will be able to see whether a credit note has been created for the refund. If not, you can generate the credit note with the click of a button.
Other features include:
- Bulk Actions: Export refund details to a CSV file or print them.
- Filter & Search: Filter by date range or search to quickly find specific refunds.

4. Credit Notes Tab (C-Business Plan Only)
In the Credit Notes tab, you will manage all credit notes that have been issued for refunds. The columns displayed are:
- Credit Note Number
- Invoice Number (associated with the credit note)
- Credit Note Date
- Customer Name
- Amount (Excluding and Including VAT)
- The Actions section provides options to:
Export PDF: Export the credit note in PDF format.
Export CSV: Export credit note details as a CSV file.
Other features include:
- Bulk Actions: Export refund details to a CSV file or print them.
- Filters: Filter by date range or search to quickly find specific refunds.
Plan-Specific Access
- C-Starter Plan: Users with the C-Starter Plan will have access to only the Orders and Invoices tabs, enabling them to manage basic sales documents such as generating and sending invoices.
- C-Business Plan: Full access to all four tabs, including the ability to manage refunds and credit notes, making it easier to handle more complex billing scenarios.
By using the tabs of the Sales Documents section, you can efficiently manage the entire billing process for your store, from order creation and invoice generation to refunds and credit note management. The tab's flexible features, combined with bulk actions and filtering options, make it easy to stay on top of your sales documents and ensure smooth operations.
